Nursery Photos!!

So we still have not hung the artwork!!! We have 3 great pieces one from Potter Press, Leia Bell & Strawberry Luna. We still need the crib skirt and the kid, but other than that the room is ready. We have a glider & a cradle in our room. Eunice made the quilt on the crib, the diaper holder, several stuffed animals & the curtain. My grandmother made the quilt that is folded over the changing table & the ABC block decor (this hung in my nursery). A dear friend of Blake's family, Sandy, made the ABC stitchery that is framed and that hung in Blake's nursery. The paddington bear that is on the bookshelf was also in my nursery. The floppy bunny in the crib was my first stuffed animal that I carried everywhere. Fun fun!!!

10 things actually said to me while pregnant

So here is a little prego humor...take it with a grain of salt and don't be offended :)

10. So are you going to have him natural? You could do it you know! OR Where are you going to have him?
What I wanted to say: "I am having him in a hospital with lots of drugs. I am not a hippy."
What I actually said: "I am having him in a hospital with lots of drugs."

9. Are you having twins?
What I wanted to say: "No, jerk."
What I actually said: "No" To which they replied, "Are you sure?"

8. You are huge! I mean huge!
What I wanted to say: "Thanks for the uplifting compliment, jerk. That is just what every pregnant women wants to hear."
What I actually said: Nothing. I just smiled and walked away.

7. So is the nursery ready yet? - this was ok the first 30 times.
What I wanted to say: "We have decided against the whole nursery thing."
What I actually said: "Not yet, but we are getting there."

6. Hey fatty!
What I wanted to say: "Now that is not nice."
What I actually said: "Hi."

5. Do you need to sit? You should sit.
What I wanted to say: "Thanks, Dr. but I will sit when I want to....I am not handicap you know."
What I actually said: "Really, I am fine."

4. How come you waited 10 years to have kids?
What I wanted to say: "I really don't like kids and I have had thoughts of locking them in the basement and sliding pancakes under the door to them."
What I actually said: "Fertility problems."

3. Are you sure you are not having twins? (When asked this I had only gained 11 lbs.)
What I wanted to say: "I have only gained 11 lbs when most people have gained 20 by now, but thanks for the jerky comment."
What I actually said: "Only having one."

2. You know you really should take it easy. When are you coming to pick my apricots?
What I wanted to say: "I am sick of people forgetting I am 8 months pregnant and asking me to do chores for them."
What I actually said: "Um, I am 8 months pregnant and getting up on ladders and bending down is quite difficult."

1. Have you had your baby yet? I thought for sure he would be here by now!
What I wanted to say: "Thanks for reminding me that no, I have not had him yet and I am still pregnant. I want this kid out of me."
What I actually said: "Not yet, still pregnant."

Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. And yes all of this and more was said to me, usually more than once....sometimes 5 times a day!  Luckily, I do not offend easily and it gave me a chuckle.

rounding the end

so i wanted to get an ultra sound picture to post on here, but there were no good angles for you all to see of apple jacks other than his boy parts. his head and face are very far down in the birth canal. he is 6 1/2 lbs and is doing well. it is getting harder for me to get around (in and out of cars, chairs, and sometimes walking!). my dr. does not think he will come early and i am not dialated yet. that means i still have about 2 weeks left. i have the north ogden arts festival tomorrow and after that i am officially taking it easy (though blake does not believe me). i cannot wait to meet this little guy! my friend had a dream that he looked like a lighter version of blake with blue eyes.....which is basically describing blake's dad, allen. please say some extra prayers for me since the whole birthing process is a bit intimidating!

prego cat

so i am 37 weeks along. i am tired most days....maybe because i am still doing too much! i have 2 photoshoots this week and an arts festival on saturday. today salt lake magazine did a shoot of me for a feature they are doing on my words of wisdom. it comes out in november. i am excited & nervous about finally getting to meet jackson. i feel like i have done good considering it has been a hot summer and i have stayed very busy. i got food poisoning this last friday and could not even keep water in me. i had to get an iv for 5 hours to get fluids in me and get medicine in me to stop the vomiting. it took me 4 days to recover, but i am back to 100%. tomorrow is our next dr. appt.
